What is ParkatmyHouse.com?

ParkatmyHouse.com is a brand new and innovative service which aims to provide affordable and fine -free parking by enabling property-owners to rent out their empty driveways, garages, car parks etc to drivers needing somewhere to park.

Motorists and cyclists on their way to work, a big sports match or a hospital appointment for example, can arrange to use a property-owner’s space on a one-off or regular, short-term or long-term basis. Underground and garage spaces offer drivers the added benefits of shelter and security for their vehicles.

Who we are and how we started?

Back in May 2006, towards the end his post university 'Round-the-World' trip, ParkatmyHouse.com founder, Anthony Eskinazi, was on his way to the AT&T stadium in San Francisco to watch a Giants baseball game. As any sports fan knows, trying to find a parking space near a stadium on a match day is usually a futile exercise!

So, when he saw an empty driveway a stone's throw away from the stadium he realised that there was a great opportunity for both homeowners and drivers if only they could find a way of making the initial contact.

After Anthony returned to the UK in June 2006, he started work on the first version of ParkatmyHouse.com and after hours of sweating in front of the computer and brainstorming with close friends and family, ParkatmyHouse.com finally opened to the public on 22nd September 2006.

Why we're here

As drivers or passengers, we have all experienced the growing problem of parking. With resident permit holder bays springing up all over the country, car park prices making us wince and fines landing on windscreens at a record rate and with no sign of a slowdown, parking is becoming ever more restricted, costly and stressful.

At the same time, millions of driveways and car parks - next to major public transport hubs, town centres and theatres for example - stand empty when they could be providing parking for motorists and extra income to homeowners and businesses.

What's missing and greatly needed is something that brings drivers and their vehicles together with property-owners and their empty garages.

This is where ParkatmyHouse.com comes in! We've taken the bull by the horns and developed a friendly and easy-to-use site which enables motorists ('parkers' as we like to call them) and property-owners (also known as 'space owners') to interact.

We take a hands-off approach, leaving the two parties to make arrangements between themselves with the help of our technology. (A matchmaking service for parking if you like).
